School tours are offered to all families interested in learning more about Anthem Prep (grades 6-12) and Great Hearts Academies. A school administrator will speak with you about the classical liberal arts education we provide as you enjoy a brief tour of our campus.

Tour Details: Tours will help prospective or new families learn more about our curriculum, observe a classrooms and will include a question-and-answer session.
Drivers license is required of all adult attendees upon check in at the front desk.
Masks are optional but not required.

This information session will be an excellent chance for new and interested families to learn more about the Prep Program at Great Hearts Anthem.
5:30-6:00 – Reception and information tables (optional).
6:00-7:30 – Informational Program (Mission/Vision; Testimonials; Sessions on Culture, Academics, and Student Services).
7:30-8:00 – Q&A with Headmaster (optional)

8th Grade Field Trip - AZ Museum of Natural History

8th Grade Field Trip - AZ Museum of Natural History
Eighth grade will be visiting the AZ Museum of Natural History on Wednesday, May 4th 2022. They will view exhibits related to their Earth Science curriculum including AZ geological history, fossil records, and the Geologic Time Scale.
This field trip also includes a lunch stop at Organ Stop Pizza.
A flyer with additional information including dress code will be given to students closer to the field trip date. All students are highly encouraged to bring a disposable water bottle.

Donuts will be sold on Friday 5/6 for $1 outside near the flag pole and in the Commons from 7:30-7:50am. All proceeds support the Anthem Prep Class of 2023 Senior Trip.

This is a friendly reminder to mark your calendars for the Spring Music Concert on May 9th. Each class, kindergarten through fifth grade, in addition to regular music class, practices performing various songs throughout the semester. Since there is only one concert per semester, this is a significant portion of their grade and we ask that each student attend. Not participating may result in a lower grade. In some cases, an alternate assignment may be given which will be much larger in scope and the student will have one week to complete the assignment.
Concert dress: (see Family Handbook, p. 43)
Boys:
· white collared dress shirts with blue pants and black shoes. (Uniform black shoes or black dress shoes). No ties.
Girls:
· white blouse with blue uniform skirt or blue dress pants and black shoes (open-toed shoes and reasonable heels are permitted).
Arrival & Pickup Times and Locations:
All Grades:
All students should go directly to their classrooms when they arrive for the concert (see times below). Parents may proceed to the gym after dropping off their child. It is important that parents remain for the entirety of the concert and refrain from picking up their students until the concert is finished. The K- 2 concert ends at 6:00pm and the 3rd-5th grade concert ends at 6:45pm.
K- 2nd grades:
· K- 2nd grade students are required to arrive at the school no later than 5:15pm.
· Concert time: 5:30 - 6:00pm in the gym.
3rd- 5th grades:
· 3rd- 5th grade students are required to arrive at school no later than 6:00pm.
· Concert time: 6:15 – 6:45pm in the gym.
After the concert:
K- 2nd grades:
· K- 2nd grade students will go directly to homeroom
3rd- 5th grades:
· 3rd grade goes to homeroom
· 4th grade students will wait in the foyer of the gym
· 5th grade students go directly to their parents

Students will be graded on their memorization of pieces, their behavior during the concert (including if they have followed dress code), and how much effort they have put towards improving their performance skills. If students are unable to attend, they will receive no grade until they meet Ms. Anderson or Dr. Bookhout to reschedule a makeup performance assignment.

Girls wear a white blouse with black dress slacks and black dress shoes (open-toed shoes and reasonable heels are permitted)

All School Art Show

Anthem Prep Art Show
Anthem Preparatory Academy proudly presents the Spring Art Show! Please join us on Wednesday, May 11th, from 5:00-6:30 pm. Students should plan to attend the art show for at least ten minutes. Students must present and answer questions about their artwork to you and a teacher. Students should arrive in uniform or follow the dress code for semi-formal dress on page 50 of the Family Handbook.
The Art Show is a significant portion of their grade, and we ask that each student attend. Students will be graded on their presentation of their piece and their behavior during the event (including if they have followed dress code). If students are unable to attend, they will receive no grade until they meet with Mrs. Mickley or Mrs. McCabe to reschedule a makeup assignment.

Anthem Archway Art Show, Wednesday, May 11th, 5:00pm - 6:30pm in the Commons. Please plan on staying 10-15 minutes for your student to present their work to you. Uniforms or Semi-Formal Attire required for Art Students.

8th Grade End of Year Fun Day and Celebration is Friday, May 20th!
8th Grade Fun Day
Time: 12:00-1:25 PM
Who: Students and staff members.
Activities: Pizza meal, Ice cream dessert, playground time, and dodgeball in gym.
Volunteer Needs: 3-4 Parents to serve food, Ice Cream Donations (sign up forthcoming).
8th Grade Celebration
Time: 6:00-7:30 PM
Who: Students, parents, and staff members.
Activities: Selfie station, Snacks, Slideshow, Junior exhortation, Teacher exhortation, Awards, Favorite memories.
Volunteer Needs: 3-4 Parents for Set-up, 3-4 Parents for tear down (sign up forthcoming).
For the slideshow, please email Mrs. Mickley (kmickley@anthemprep.org) any pictures you would like included. We plan on featuring 1-2 per student.
**The dress code for the Celebration will be casual, akin to our Coffee House attire. Once the event gets closer, we will communicate the specific requirements to the students.**
